I’m Steph Locke, co-founder of GoSmarter.ai and a fractional tech leader and product executive.

I design and deliver responsible AI and automation that frees manufacturers from paperwork, reduces waste, and scales reliable production. I partner with metals manufacturers to replace manual certificate handling, brittle procedures, and spreadsheets with simple, governed workflows that make compliance effortless and operations faster, greener, and more predictable.

I lead cross-functional teams to build secure, least-privilege cloud architectures, automated CI/CD, and data-first products that unlock time and insight for people on the shop floor. My work focuses on practical impact: cutting hours spent on admin, eliminating costly production surprises, and turning compliance from a burden into a competitive advantage.

I believe technology should be transparent, accountable, and designed around the humans who use it. I bring a mix of hands-on engineering, product strategy, and ethical governance to every engagement — from rapid pilots that deliver immediate ROI to long-term platforms that scale across sites.

Previously I led technical teams at Microsoft for three years, and before that ran Locke Data, a boutique data science consultancy. I’ve been a Microsoft AI & Data Platform MVP, author of two R books, and a long-time organiser in the data community.
